A scarce DAF area standard, sadly the area/city patch has long since been removed from the standard. Flag is approx 120x140 cm, in excellent condition overall without any damage. Standard top is maker marked "RZM M3/40". The wooden pole is in 2 parts, which can be put together to give an approx length of 320 cm. These standards are quite scarce, especially in such fine condition. A nice standard for the DAF collector. An ex-Niemann sale.
A rare Grand Admirals Flag, approx 1 mtr square, showing the standard and crossed battons of the Grand Admiral's Office - also called the Donitz Standard. In lovely condition though some small holes exist but do not detract from this beautiful flag. Letter of provenance with this flag stating the Konteradmiral a.D. (Vice Admiral) of the Kriegsmarine who previously owned this flag from the end of hostilities.
WW2 German Merchant Navy flag, showing the swastika and the Iron Cross in the top corner. These flags are quite scarce, being flown by Merchant ships whose Captains were Kriegsmarine reserve naval officers. Very large 200 x 335 cm. Lovely condition flag, maker marked along the edge band 'Bonner Fahnenfabrik, Bonn a. Rhein' along with *B*. There are a couple of minor holes and mothing though these do not detract at all
WW2 German Kriegsmarine War Service flag, showing the swastika and eagle insignia. Very large 135 x 240 cm. Lovely condition flag without any damage or holes, not maker or size marked.
WW2 German Kriegsmarine War Service flag, showing the swastika and eagle insignia. Very large approx 200 x 400 cm multipiece construction. Lovely condition flag without any damage or holes, basically as removed from a store, one of the best flags I've seen, not maker or size marked.
Imperial German Navy battle flag, fully maker marked and with Kriegsmarine acceptence stamps. Size 75 x 135 cm. Some minor marks though these do not detract. Comes with a Niemann lifetime certificate of authenticity, a fine scarce flag.
A very rare surviving War Veteran flag "Schenefeld 1870-1871" approx size 105x105 cm and still attached to a piece of wooden staff. These flags were often carried by the veterans groups that abounded in the early 1920s following the disorder of the end of WW1 continuing into the rise of the 3rd Reich. Many of these War Veterans flags can be identified in the early photographs of the 3rd Reich period. The flag is in remarkable condition for its age though does show some sign of moth in its past along with a couple of tears, there is also a period repair about an inch long - see photographs, I have pictured the worse, none of which detract from this rare surviving flag. A true piece of history. Priced to reflect its condition and to re-home with a collector who will continue to look after it properly.
NSDAP triangular vehicle pendent as used by high ranking political & SS Officers, about 13 inches x 7 inches, excellent quality, multi-piece construction, roped edging, complete with fixing cleat & tie-rope.
SS 'Old Comrades' veterans banner - Same as war time Totenkopf banner, bullion wire silver skull on black background with 2 oakleaves in lower corners. Banner fringed in silver wire threads/tassels. Banner about 1mtr x 3/4 mtr. Please note that this is a post war banner (I think 1950's-60's, albeit identical in size, material & construction as the WW2 version). A fantastic collection centre piece. Rare!
