A very rare WW2 National Pigeon Service badge in excellent condition, has the number 13483, made by JR Gaunt, part of the makers mark is visible under the button hole fitting, approx. height 25mm. Homing pigeons were used by the British forces, SOE and Special Forces for sending secret messages back to England, their specially trained owners were officially issued with the National Pigeon Service badge, a very rare and difficult to find badge especially in such condition.
