A scarce WW2 SS Helfen silver clasp-badge as worn by the SS female helpers awarded for faithful service, thought to be an award for special diligence and devotion to duty. It is my belief that this is a post-war veteran badge as this is a particularly scarce badge. The SS-HELFERINNEN were female personnel who had been trained at the Reichsschule-SS at Oberenheim and incorporated into the SS-Helferinnen and were an essential part of the SS with their specialist communications skills. The badge is nicely made, solid silver, marked '800' on the top of the frame, approx 40mm x 8mm and about 3-4mm-ish thick so quite a substantial badge.  The badge has a safety hook and brooch fitting as you might expect for female wear.  A lovely badge, fine detail and nicely presented.
