A very scarce Royal Army Medical Colleges prize medallion - Sidney Herbert 'First in Order of Merit' prize medal, the Right Honourable Sidney Herbert, later Lord Herbert of Lea, was the founder of the Royal Army Medical College. The medallion, awarded in Herbert's memory to honour the highest standard of achievement, is in excellent condition, approx 5cm diameter and 5mm thick, lovely heavy quality, a really fine looking item certainly worthy of more research especially with the Royal Army Medical College connection
